Mixing Video With Serato and the SL-1 (Without the TTM-57 mixer!)
I came across this video on youtube some time back. Apparently, Mac users can now use Serato to mix video files, even if they do not have a Rane TTM-57 mixer. The software is called MixEmergency, and it is available from a company called Inklen (www.inklen.com.) The price of the video mixing software is $179, and you will need a midi controller in order to use it properly.
The website does offer a free download, with watermarks on the screen and minus the ability to output it to a TV. It’s definitely worth a shot if you would like to start spinning video, but don’t want to drop $1500 on a Rane TTM-57. You will, however, need a Macbook or Macbook Pro (recommended by the Inklen site), because this software is not available for PC.
OK, Serato, you guys are usually on top of things like this. Do you really expect everyone to buy a TTM-57 that wants to spin video?

I’ve been using SSL for 5 years and I personally HATE the Rane mixers. The ttm56 is complete junk in my opinion, and I do not want to buy a 57 just to incorporate video into my set. Thanks a lot for the tip, I’m gonna look into it and I’ll let you know what I think after I try it…
need for pc’s..
