  1. Very unhappy with this piece. Unit seem under powered by USB. Files stop and stutter. Cross fader bleeds between decks. Several issues un resolved. Support suggested I by a powered USB hub. I did and it got worse. I’m done with hercules but still looking for a product that WILL do what this one was suppose to . If anybody has a suggestion please keep me posted.

I couldnt DISagree with you more…the controller is rock solid, have had no issues with it running with Traktor 3 (cant wait for pro) works absolutely perfectly – lots of features and can be taken more seriously than the MK2 :)

my mate robin would summed it up niceley in terms of the pros and cons of the RMX unit:

    Hercules RMX pros:
    - solid metal finish
    - solid feel to pots and sliders
    - versatile and easy to set up and use with Virtual DJ software included
    - 2 stereo inputs for external devices
    - well priced

    cons:
    - gimmicky effects unit, with too few effects
    - drivers are dodgy when first installed on Vista. Haven’t checked if an update is available yet.

If you are thinking about this unit and are happy with the features, get it…

I find this controller very good for a beginner! It has all the basic functions which works well. Also, it’s pretty good looking so you want be ashamed of it :)

    Portable to!

I got this unit the 1st month it came out. Its really stable performs well. The jog wheels and cross fader feel a little loose but not horrendous to use just take a few seconds to get use to. Drivers and sound quality are great on Vista 64 bit. I also love the fact its a really good midi controller which makes it compatible with tons of audio apps or customizing your button scheme in your favorite dj software. All in all its a Great bang for the buck.

I first bought the MK2. Controlls were crampped but it was a nice peice for the price. Then Hurcules released the RMX. At first it took a little to get use to it. Then once Hurcules start releasing updated drivers for it, it was so much better. I love the RMX and in my opinion Virtual DJ is the best software to run with it. Plug and Play is the best. The feel of the RMX is great. The controls are not as crampped as the MK2 and it has a more professional look to it, so the drunk guys at your gigs won’t think that they can become a professional DJ. LOL

Bought this unit to try out a dual deck solution and compliment my numark icdx setup. Connected it to my alum macbook with OSX and vista on bootcamp. Dodgy doesn’t describe the performance in Vista(crappy is better); however running on OS X with both Traktor and Virtual DJ I was very impressed with the responsiveness. Crossing over from Vinyl it definitely takes some getting used to, but I like the fact I can use it as both a 2 channel mixer and as a MIDI controller. Definitely recommend to beginners for the price. Stick to Mac if you can, it was even pretty flaky on my HP Pavillion notebook with AMD64 2Ghz and 4GB of RAM. (I still have 2GB on my 2.4 duo intel macbook and it blows it away…).

I got this piece of kit about a month ago. Very happy with it “BUT” the cross fader is to sensitive, seems too loose (is there a way to tighten it up – from the inside)
I own the Sound Blaster XFI – Pro Elite and would much rather use this as the master as i am not to sure about the RMX as a sound card (any ideas)
Other than those complaints this is a great bit of kit… Would recommend to Beginners and Intermediate Djs.

i am very happy owner of hercules rmx! it comes pre mapped with virtual dj software which i run on my mac book pro. just plug and play! i know, it lacks effects and thats the reason why i use korg kaoss pad 3. did around 20 gigs with this kit. never had let me down.

    pros:
1)easy to carry (comes with a carry bag)
    2)sturdy and looks attractive
3)can map it with many other dj softwares (ex: traktor, deckadance etc)
    4) buttons and knobs are solid.
    5) inbuilt 16bit sound card.

I picked mine up about a year ago and I must say it was a pretty awesome purchase.

It does everything I expected it to do, works great with my laptop.

I wish the jog wheels were a bit larger but there’s still quite a bit of control.

Totally worth the money to play around with DJing.
